Chümoukedima, February 19, 2026 – The Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) successfully concluded a comprehensive two-day Technical Training for Trainers (ToT) on the “Value Addition of Honey and its By-products” today at the Multi Utility Centre (MUC), 6th Mile.

The program brought together SHG leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs from across all 16 districts of Nagaland, aiming to transform traditional beekeeping into a sustainable and diversified business model.
Empowering Entrepreneurs through Innovation
The training focused on the untapped potential of honey and beeswax, moving beyond raw honey production to create high-value retail products. Participants engaged in intensive “Hands-on” sessions, learning the precision required for:

Gourmet Food Products: Infused honey with nuts, sweet fruit candies, pickles, and specialized juices.

Beeswax Essentials: Crafting beeswax candles, blocks, and eco-friendly food wraps.

Personal Care: Formulating natural lip balms and soothing medicinal balms.
Beyond Production: Marketing & Sustainability
Recognizing that a great product needs a market, the curriculum included vital business modules:

Product Standardization: Ensuring quality and consistency across batches.

Business Literacy: Practical lessons on cost charting, pricing strategies, and financial management.

Branding & Packaging: Guidance on professional labeling and packaging to make Naga products competitive in national markets.
Distinguished Guests and Leadership
The event was graced by Shri. Sentiwapang Aier, Secretary to the CM and Team Leader of NBHM, who served as the Special Guest for the inaugural session.
In the valedictory program, Shri. O.P. Mounglang, Deputy General Manager of NABARD, joined as the Special Guest. He encouraged the trainees to utilize their new skills to uplift rural economies and distributed certificates to the participants who are now equipped to train others in their respective districts.
The technical sessions were led by experts including Lovi Achumi (Proprietor, Tsüipu Food Products) and members of the NBHM team, ensuring a blend of scientific methods and local entrepreneurial experience.
