Nagaland Honey
The Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) as part our post-harvest and honey enterprise sources 3 (Three) varieties of natural and pure honey from our project beekeeping villages. The honey thus sourced is processed, bottled, packaged and sold under the brand name ‘Nagaland Honey’. Savor the goodness of pure honey made by the honeybee species of Apis cerena (common honey bee), tetragonula species (stingless bee) and Apis laboriosa (rock bee). Out of the many species of honeybees found in the State of Nagaland, these three varieties of honey with its distinct flavors and taste are available for the honey lovers and the ever increasing wellness enthusiasts.
Sweet Honey(common bee honey)
This variety of sweet honey is sourced from the apiaries of tribal beekeepers. The beekeepers rears them in scientific framed hives in their orchards amidst variety of horticultural crops, jhum fields and vegetable gardens in different beekeeping villages spread across the State. It is available in packs of 500 gms, 250 gms, 100 gms, 50 gms and 25 gms glass bottles to suit the demands of different customers.
Rock Bee Honey
This variety of wild and naturally organic honey is sourced from the traditional honey hunters who harvest the rock bees from their natural habitats in the rocky terrains of the State. Two varieties of rock bee honey (bitter and sweet) is available in packs of 500 gms and 250 gms glass bottles.
Stingless (Medicinal) Honey
This variety of unique tangy and potent honey is highly medicinal and used for healing many ailments like colds, ulcers, sore throats, cuts, burns, dysentery etc. It is produced by the stingless bees and are sourced from the many beekeepers who rears them in innovative hives like log cavities, bamboo hive, earthen pots and dried bottle gourds. They are also collected by sustainable harvesting from underground natural habitats and tree cavities deep in the forest. It has a sweet and sour taste and is available in packs of 250 gms glass bottles.
